Characterization of the Microstructure and Thermomechanical Properties of Invar 36 Coatings Deposited by HVOF and Cold Gas Processes

Abstract The effect of impact velocity and temperature invar particles deposited by high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) cold spray processes on the microstructure oxidation content coatings is not fully understood. Additionally, coating thickness coefficient thermal expansion (CTE) coated material influence working hardness are also insufficiently investigated. In present study, were at temperatures close to below melting point maintain low CTE. It was found that particle strongly affect pore formation cohesiveness but slightly coatings. Higher velocities with invar’s enhance highly HVOF-invar Furthermore, stabilize CTE up a 227 °C. An increment in coating’s 150 µm leads reducing (Al) in-plane direction 7.65%. Applying using 200 kN compression increases treated 6% while machine hammer peening (MHP) has slight effect.
